So you want to be a Rock n Roll Star?
Of course Rick did and sometimes still does but with a little luck and a lot of hard work, his career as an entertainment producer / talent buyer has outlasted the average life span of a band more than 3 times over. Rick still loves it when the house lights are dimmed and the artist takes the stage. He says, "There is nothing like show time and watching an audience jump to their feet with excitement when the headline artist hit's the first note or the look of amazement when a simple event space is transformed into a special event extravaganza."
Rick was either in a band, on the road with a band or working on the production side of the business. In 1996, he knocked on the door of the EastCoast Charlotte office and just would not take no for an answer. Rick began as an assistant, soon became an agent, and in 2005 became an owner of EastCoast Entertainment. Currently with partner Steve Thomas, Rick oversees the Atlanta operation. Together with their talented Atlanta team, they provide world class entertainment for corporate events, social, galas, festivals, universities and personal celebrations. Rick is looking forward to expanding our operation in to Florida in the near future.
Over the past 15 years Rick has produced entertainment all over the United States, Caribbean, Mexico and Bermuda. A few career highlights include entertainment producer for the Allstate BCS Championship Gala, The Sugar Bowl, major motion picture premiers, numerous corporate events, festivals, college / university concerts and even a few celebrity private parties. He has worked with some of the biggest names in entertainment Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Zac Brown Band, KISS, Goo Goo Dolls, Earth, Wind & Fire, Lionel Richie, Stone Temple Pilots, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the list goes on. Many times events take place in unusual locations, and Rick has seen it all! Whether the event is at a dude ranch in Montana, rain forest in Puerto Rico, a three story arena show production in a ballroom, private residence, swimming pool, rooftop, cruise ship and even golf course, Rick can make it happen with the right team!
Rick is currently a member of the advisory board for the Association of Entertainment Producers Worldwide, actively involved with the International Association of Entertainment Producers. He has been lucky enough to be nominated for ISES / NACE Allie Awards for Best Team Effort and in 2011 the International Entertainment Buyers Association awarded him the honor of college talent buyer of the year.
