If words could even begin to describe the first rate show that Jim and the Voltage Brothers put on for us this past Saturday night in Southport, NC, we might crash the internet.
Sometimes, delivering an simple, "Thank you" says it all. I hope that our humble gratitude will be accepted in this way for the unbelievably high energy of the band, the truly professional quality of their music, the inclusive nature of their delivery, their flexibility in catering to the crowd throughout the entire evening and as I came to find out on Sunday, the high class handling of a party goer who thought he was part of the band (my apologies to you and the band Jim.).
We received more compliments and high praises on our choice of the band throughout the night and for the few days that followed. These guys (and lady) successfully kept 150 people on the dance floor for every bit of the four hours they played! Believe me when I tell you that if you knew the personalities of the crowd like Amy and I do, this was no small feat. It is a true testament to how Jim and his team have mastered their craft, not only of being incredibly gifted musicians and singers but as importantly - entertainers.
There was plenty going on all around them that would have distracted lesser professionals - but not the Voltage Brothers. Jim and his group did exactly what he said they were going to do....They slayed it! Sure, we had a good crowd on hand, but The Voltage Brothers made this event a hit beyond our wildest expectations. From Amy and my first dance, Ingrid Michaelson's, "The Way I Am" (The Voltage Brothers learned this song especially for us.) to special dances with parents (Perfect selections for those involved), the rhythmic roller coaster that the band led us through for the majority of the evening and concluding with "Blue Eyed Girl" where the wedding party sang along and Last Dance - we had an absolute blast! I have a feeling massage spas and physical therapists in parts across the U.S. are recipients of unexpected clients this week as those who danced the night away look to speed their recovery!
Jim, thank you also for taking the time to get to know Amy and I in the months leading up to the wedding. Your desire to get to know us beyond the information contained in the contract are genuinely appreciated. As we sped through the night (those four hours felt like only a few minutes), Amy and I realized that while there may be many bands out there, the first and only that people should be looking to for a truly one of a kind experience is the Voltage Brothers.
Thank you many times over for helping to make our wedding night truly unique and memorable!

To be real honest with you they were GREAT!!!!!! I talked to them earlier in the week as they called me. We confirmed everything for the party and that was a first for me. They were there as they said. The nicest people you would want to work with and be around. They conformed to our needs and impressed our members by going around and talking with them about there program and how they were doing. You don't get that very often and it was very refreshing. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone for performance,quality and being nice professional people. Thank you and The Voltage Bros. for making our function great. Words cannot explain just how fabulous our PICOR 2009, "Oh, What a Night" Holiday was. Jerry and Johnny were absolutely hilarious, as well as, kind. It was the perfect way to begin the evening. The Voltage Brothers..... are simply the best....The hotel just called and said that was, without a doubt, the best band that had ever performed at The Carnegie. The music, the horns, the voices, the professionalism.....Tony and I, along with the staff danced the night away. Every song they played was 100% perfect. The Voltage Brothers are one talented group of musicians. We were honored to have them perform and look forward to our next event. Last December you helped us book The Voltage Brothers for our daughter's wedding (Selph/Brumby Wedding) at Sea Island, Ga. The wedding was held this Saturday, June 23rd at the Ocean Forest Golf Club overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The band was fantastic. They were the best band any of us have ever heard. The dance floor was packed the whole night, which is a great sign for the quality of the music. The band members were very friendly and entertaining, as well. The young lady who is the lead singer has a beautiful voice.
I enjoyed working with Jim kelly. He was very accommodating and reliable. The band worked very hard and were extremely professional. I look forward to having an opportunity to use the band again.

The Voltage Brothers were fabulous - better than I imagined they would be. Jim was a pleasure to work with. We were thrilled when we heard that the band added a female singer to the group and she did not disappoint. What an added treat to hear Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell duets and other selections that required a female vocalist. They played our first dance and father/daughter song so well and happily incorporated the few favorites of my Dad's that I specially requested (60 Minute Man and Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy). The music was a perfect blend of beach music, Motown and more contemporary R&B, disco, funk - exactly what we were looking for. The dance floor was packed all night long and the band's energy helped keep up the party atmosphere that we wanted for our wedding reception. I won't soon forget the sight of one of my bridesmaid's parents starting the "love train". So many people were inspired to hit the floor after that song that my husband and I were barely able to find room on the dance floor! Jim and the band were also great about honoring my dad's request to stay late when we weren't ready for the party to end. I couldn't be happier with their performance. Please feel free to use us as a reference for the Voltage Brothers. I'll be singing (no pun intended) their praises to everyone for a long time...
