DJ BIG BAD BEN was born in 1969 in a small town in North Carolina. Most of Ben's childhood involved some form of music. In 1984, Ben entered the ranks of mobile DJ. Day and night Ben practiced his skills in his parents' garage. At times the neighbors didn't know if they lived in quiet Forrest Acres or in the heart of Studio 54. While working at WEED 1390 AM in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Ben decided on the name he still uses today to set himself apart from the rest. Ben attended Elon College in 1989, where he was exposed to different styles of DJing. This is where DJ BIG BAD BEN's patented mixin' and scratchin' was developed. Since those days, Ben has worked for several major nightclubs like The ClubZone (Raleigh, NC), The Longbranch (Raleigh, NC), The Diamond Club (Rocky Mount, NC), and The Sheraton Hotel (Rocky Mount, NC). Ben has also worked with/opened for several major artists such as Meatloaf, David Allen Coe, DJ KOOL, and Kid Capri. In 1998 DJ BIG BAD BEN was inducted into the Ultimix DJ Hall Of Fame and he has been a long-time member of the Dixie Dance Kings. DJ BIG BAD BEN can be heard every Saturday night on New Mix 99.7 FM and BOB 93.9 FM with The Saturday Night Dance Party with DJ Big Bad Ben. Also, Ben is the owner of BIG BAD PRODUCTIONS, offering a wide range of DJ services. For dependability, professionalism, and integrity, there is only one....DJ BIG BAD BEN.
Ben did a great job last weekend. The event went smoothly and everyone had a really good time. Ben was also great about making announcements, etc. My fraternity looks forward to using East Coast Entertainment again for our next function. I'll be sure to give your information to our new social chairs.

Just a quick note to tell you how pleased we were with Ben’s work at the Empire Room Friday night. The dance was a complete success — I mean the kids had a sensational time from start to finish — and although the Empire Room turned out to be a much better venue than I’d expected, it was really the music that made it so spectacularly successful. Ben was friendly, professional, and teenager-appropriate, and although we were always happy with Jeff Scott, Ben is, very honestly, much better! Just about every kid danced almost continuously all night—which definitely does not always happen.
