While some four year olds were playing with building blocks, Ellie Schwarz was learning to play violin on a macaroni box covered in wood grain contact paper and giving impromptu performances for her family. Her musical studies as a young child allowed her many opportunities to perform before live audiences in such esteemed venues as Wolf Trap, Constitution Hall and Catholic University.
While at the College of Charleston studying anthropology and French, she continued building her repertoire of musical genres to include Celtic, Cajun, bluegrass, rock n' roll and even experimented with improvisation. There was no doubt that music had become an integral part of Ellie's life and she knew she would only be happy with a career in the music industry.
After college, she worked as the Southeast Manager for the Emergenza International Music Festival producing concerts throughout the country including shows at such renown venues such as Webster Hall and The Bitter End in New York City and The Rocket Room in San Francisco.
Ellie joined East Coast Entertainment in 2007 and in 2008, ECE decided to have Ellie take advantage of the opportunities Asheville has to offer the industry. Historic destinations like The Grove Park Inn drew many tourists as well as business conferences and beautiful mountain settings like The Biltmore House had become very busy destination wedding sites. The City also had several well-known music venues and new festivals were popping up every year. Ellie knew that with hard work and determination, she could make the Asheville office successful and she has done just that.
Ellie feels that the secret to her success has been her unique combination of real life experience as a band member and producer along with her ability to educate musicians about the importance of promotions and visibility. The ease she feels being around musicians has allowed her to build positive relationships with many artists throughout the nation. She is delighted to have the opportunity to take her experience and knowledge to the next level with the Southeast's most well known and beloved entertainment agency, EastCoast Entertainment. She is happy to represent ECE as a member of the board for the Charlotte Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) and the North Carolina Association of Festivals & Events (NCAF&E).
"Hello Ellie! First I want to say how lucky Hilary and I are to have you as our entertainment rep! I think each of us have certainly grown into our roles over the past couple years, but your dedication, professionalism, and over-all knowledge of the business helped us all look good… even if when we didn’t know how much it counted! I am working on your valentines invoices today and hope to have a green-light on summer events soon!"

"Ellie provided us with so much information when we were trying to decide on a band. It was great working with her and we will certainly in touch when/if we need a band. I can't say enough great things about We Got the Beat. They literally blew us away! My husband and I were a little concerned as they didn't have that many reviews and our wedding planner had never worked with them . We went with our gut feeling and it certainly paid off. From the guitarist at the ceremony to our first dance, they were so accommodating with our requests. Unfortunately, we got off to a bit of a late start with the ceremony. Brad made sure to locate Jonathan and I in the crowd to find out which songs we wanted to hear before the end of the night. They also skipped a break to make up for lost time. We truly appreciated this. They engaged the crowd and just generally rocked the whole night. I'm sure they would have played into the wee hours of the morning if the venue had let them! My husband (who is not a big dancer) danced the entire time as did I. We have also been receiving rave reviews from all of our wedding guests. In fact, we had a guest contemplating canceling the band for her daughter's upcoming wedding to hire We Got the Beat. If her husband hadn't reminded her that they had already put down a deposit, I'm pretty sure she would have booked them on the spot :) We cannot thank them enough for making our wedding night SO much fun. They sounded awesome and are true professionals."

"The Voltage Brothers are amazing! They were professional, kind, super talented and easy to work with! We loved the horns, voices, high energy and ability to keep the crowd involved and dancing! Our daughter did not want the night to end. The band played their special requests from Sinatra to Taj Mahal and the Beatles. This band was the perfect choice for our daughter and son-in-law. We could not have asked for a better experience! We hope we get another opportunity to hire them to entertain us! Totally recommend! And totally recommend East Coast Entertainment! Ellie Schwarz was our contact and she was a dream to work with and very accommodating! You can't go wrong with these people!"

"Thank you to Ellie Schwarz and the team at East Coast Entertainment. Ellie was very easy to work with, took time to talk with me, professional, courteous and empathetic to our entertainment vision for our wedding reception. I would highly recommend that any in the NC, Northeast GA, Northwest SC or the entire Southeast contact Ellie directly about your entertainment needs. She is fantastic. Thank you Ellie."

"Hi Ellie, I just wanted to send you a quick note of thanks for the bands you booked at Worlds, and all the work you did afterwards to coordinate their arrival times as we made changes to the event schedule. The bands were great and everyone was highly complementary of the live music. On our end, it was a big help not to have to be responsible for the day-of payment checks, when we already had a lot going on with the event. Thanks so much!"

"EastCoast Entertainment was extremely helpful in targeting which band to get for our July wedding in North Carolina. Based on our venue, number of guests, and preferred music style, they matched us with the band they thought would match our interests best, which ended up being Men of Distinction. They were incredible, and were such an absolute hit at our wedding. They had people dancing all night, and even doing the 'Can-Can' at one point- very entertaining group. I appreciate EastCoast's efforts to match us with the perfect band for our wedding."
