Tom Billotto

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina since 1988, acoustic finger-style guitarist and vocalist Tom Billotto passionately pursues a full-time music career, averaging more than 200 performances per year in: restaurants; concerts; festivals; country clubs; private, corporate and fundraising events; wine dinners/tastings; weddings; radio and TV. Tom has performed with Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis, Hugh Taylor (James' brother). In addition to his solo work, Tom regularly performs with some of Charlotte's top musicians in duo and trio settings.

Tom's sound is often described as "classy"..."tasteful", and certainly his extensive musical training and influences contribute to these descriptions. At the heart of this sound is Tom's Classical Guitar technique which uses the right hand fingers to individually pluck the strings, supplying complex melody, rhythm and bass lines simultaneously. Tom's sound took flight during formal music studies in college, culminating in a Music Performance Degree in Classical Guitar and Voice. Further influenced by the genius of Chet Atkins and countless jazz and classical virtuosi, and with vocal idols such as James Taylor, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, no wonder a Charlotte's neighborhood publication referred to Tom as "...the finest professional acoustic guitar player in town..."

Tom's repertoire includes Classical, Spanish/Latin American, Jazz standards, classic pop, Chet Atkins, James Taylor, Beatles, Sinatra, TV/movie themes... A Tom Billotto performance can feature vocal and instrumental or exclusively instrumental works. In either case, always classy and classic, showcasing a versatile collection of works by some of the greatest composers. In addition, Tom is very proud of his many original arrangements of popular songs and jazz standards.
