Hi John, I just wanted to have a personal communication with you about TFC. I would like to use the word stupendous to describe every aspect of their performance last night. The mix was absolutely perfect as were the levels throughout the evening. Their choice of material was perfect as was the overall performance and musicianship. They worked the crowd and moved the energy of the evening along so nicely. The first set blew me away with their selection of songs, perfect for warming up the crowd as they started to fill the room. It was such a pleasure to hear Dee sing, she has such a "real" voice, not your typical club date singer for sure. Listening to her sing Gladys Knight's "Neither one of us" gave me goose bumps. AS they moved into their dance sets the energy was masterful , the tempos were unwavering solid in the pocket, something that usually drives me nuts with most dance bands. I know I'm using the word perfect a lot here, something you won't usually hear me do as you know, but as a 30 year veteran of the music business I was amazed that I could not find anything I would change, do differently or improve on. Whatever didn't work well at the 3rd Thursday event was nowhere to be found last night. Everyone enjoyed the band and had a great time , it really raised the bar for our holiday party, and many people have told me this was the best party yet. Not to take anything away from all the hard work and contributions of everyone planning and working this event , but I feel TFC was a huge part of making this one stand out as special. I'm sure you are going to hear from Janis if you haven't already, she was truly blown away. There were a few key people who were very concerned about volume going into the evening, and they all told me throughout the evening that they thought the volume was perfect from beginning to end. Aside from all of the business stuff, I just have to say that these are the greatest friendly and open group of people to work with and to get to know. They made me feel like one of the family, and I feel I have made some wonderful friends. I look forward to working with them again and I'd love to go see them play whenever they have a public gig somewhere in central VA. I will certainly recommend them, and please feel free to use me as a reference for my new friends the TFC Band.
Lynn - Thanks for checking. I would give them a large share of the praise for making our reception fantastic. Almost every person at the reception told us how much they enjoyed the band. They were the perfect blend of fun and crazy while still maintaining the level of class that we wanted our reception to have. Basically we couldnt have been happier with their performance at the reception. On top of that they were very easy to work with before the show happened. In terms of picking different songs and working through their play list. We were very pleased with their enthusiasm to want to play at our party and their willingness to work with us on a few things prior to the event. I have literally never seen that many people dancing the entire night and having such a great time. This includes all of the weddings I've been to and fraternity parties back in college.
I really don't have anything bad to say at all. They were wonderful. Thank you also for your help in getting them for us. It was a very pleasant experience working with both you and TFC.
I am not one to avoid criticism usually but there isnt a single thing I can think of that would have made our experience with TFC any better.

TFC was awesome, they were really nice people, they were professional and courteous and got set up really quick. Because we had a golf tournament going on, they had trouble completing a sound check, but it did not bother them a bit. They were great to work with. They sounded really good too; our crowd enjoyed them so much that we paid for an extra hour because our guests were having so much fun. We just wanted to reach out and send you a great big THANK YOU for your amazing performance at our wedding on June 16th on Kiawah Island at the Cassique Clubhouse.
After we were introduced and sat down immediately for dinner, you started playing your first song... we looked at each other and said "This band is already amazing!".
When the dancing started after dinner, you all immediately engaged all of our guests and kept them dancing and jumping (literally!) all night long. Your song choices were perfect for our crowd and you read the crowd to realize nobody wanted any slow songs - which was great, because nobody left the dance floor! The energy was high all night long - we've never seen our parents dance and have so much fun too!
We received numerous compliments for the band from our guests, and we were so thankful for your hard work. We knew when choosing a band that it could make or break the fun at the wedding - and the TFC Band definitely MADE our wedding!
Thanks also for learning our first song ("stuck like glue") and our last song ("sweet caroline"). We danced in a circle with our families for the very last song and it is a memory that we will cherish forever.
Thank you again so much... we could not be happier with our choice for the TFC Band at our wedding... we give you all the best recommendation for any party and wish you the best of luck for the future!

We hired TFC Band to play for our alumni weekend and they were an absolute hit from the moment they played their first set until their very last song. They were able to adjust their stage presence to connect with their audience. Before the night was over, every single person was on their feet dancing. There is no doubt that we will be inviting them back next year and the year after that.

TFC and John Hodges were fabulous. Totally professional and musically incredible on one of the most brutally hot nights that I have ever experienced. If it tells you anything, when it was all said and done, the dance floor was FULL on a night that anyone with good sense would have gone home ten minutes after the party started . . . 100 degrees outside under a tent with 100 percent humidity. As it was, we were full and rocking because of such a great band. Please use us as a reference for TFC any time. We had an attendance of 250 people who would agree! Thank you for a beautiful night for our beautiful daughter. We will never forget it!

Hi Sonny - the attached comments are from my wife. Let me also reiterate everything she says. TFC was the perfect choice for the wedding in every respect. Based on the reaction from our many friends who will be having weddings over the next couple of years, I have no doubt we will see them very soon! Not only did they sing Don't Stop Believing for my daughter (referenced below), they also learned "Apples, Peaches Pumpkin Pie" for me - a real treat. We have been to many, many weddings and without a doubt TFC is the best band we have ever heard... Many thanks Erik Dear Sonny, Erik and I are thrilled with our daughter's wedding and reception. As we have received thank you notes and calls our band, Time For Change/TFC is always mentioned. They were truly fantastic, and had all the guests on their feet...even the two 89 year old grandmothers! John was a pleasure to work with...so kind, calm, professional, and talented. Our daughter asked if TFC would learn their song, " Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. Not only did they learn it John came down with the crowd who surrounded him and sang along- it was a great and fun moment! I have attended a lot of weddings, but my daughter's was the first where when the band said good night they begged for "ONE MORE SONG!!"....and TFC graciously complied. I would without any reservation recommend TFC to clients who want their guests to celebrate and have fun. We sure did."
I genuinely thank both of you for the wonderful entertainment you brought to Altria's CRT Holiday Reception this year!!! TFC has a magnificent stage presence and were a huge hit for the second year in a row!!! People would have danced all night had we let them. Same goes for me fellas, I only wish that I could just hang with the band and dance all night , but I'm on the clock so I'll have to wait till I can come see the Masters of Motown show the next time you're in town.
The one thing I would like to add, and I don't say this for many party bands I've seen, TFC keeps raising the bar each time I've seen them. I noticed the addition of some Masters of Motown routines thrown in this time, and so did others as well. Besides your talent and musicianship I think what really reaches the crowd is that you look like you love what you do and that makes all the difference.
Aside from the great music, showman ship and professionalism, I appreciate your (ya'lls) friendship. I really look forward to getting to work with you. TFC makes my job eeeeeasy like a Sunday morning.
