Guitarist - Myles Brown

ARTIST ID: 32249

Myles Brown is a guitarist and composer with a solid academic background, Mr. Brown has been writing and performing music since early childhood. Currently, he stays busy composing music for full orchestra, solo piano & guitar, various classical ensembles, traditional "straight-ahead" jazz, and instrumental music that is a unique blend of funk, jazz, fusion, and progressive rock. He is also a dynamic performer and instrumentalist, performing traditional and modern classical guitar repertoire, solo jazz guitar, and his own original works for the solo guitarist. Myles also is an active player and songwriter in several groups and bands, including his own jazz group, corporate bands, and the popular funk/jazz/fusion/progressive rock band, "The Soundmen."

His jazz group, "The Myles Brown Show" features some of Atlanta's top jazz instrumentalists and performs exciting original compositions that range from traditional swing and latin to modern jazz. The funk/fusion band, "The Soundmen" is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most fierce live acts on the instrumental music scene. In the past few years, they have shared the stage with some of the finest acts in this genre, including Gov't Mule, members of the Grateful Dead, Col. Bruce Hampton, Jeff Sipe, and many others. Their complex original music and high-energy live shows are gaining them a strong fan base and recognition from jazz and live music enthusiasts.

Over the past decade, Guitarist Myles Brown and his ensembles have performed at such esteemed venues as Turner Field, The Tabernacle, The Ga Theater, New Earth Music Hall, The Dogwood Festival, Cherry Blossom Festival, and Music Midtown, as well as hundreds of clubs around the southeast. As a solo classical and jazz guitarist, he performs regularly at High Museum of Art, the Berkeley Hills Country Club, Catherine Kelleghan Gallery, Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art, and is a first-call performer for events at Emory, Bloomingdale's, and the Sunrise corporation.

His orchestral music can be licensed for use in TV and film, as well as other new media projects through Audiosocket and Matchless Music, the two major music licensing companies he is under contract with as a composer. In 2008 he completed his first film score for the indie film "Better Up", and is planning on releasing an album of original symphonic music, and a jazz album in the near future.
