For countless happy clients, Mr. Potato Head has been taking parties everywhere to the next level. Hire this extremely talented seven-piece band, that includes a full horn section, and you're sure to earn cool points with your guests! Whether you're looking for a killer band that hits it vocally and musically, or a fun, interactive group that doesn't remind you of a typical wedding band, MPH is the perfect match for you. Have a space issue at your venue? No problem. Mr. Potato Head can also perform as a four piece band without the horns. The scaled-down four-piece core members sing and harmonize as well as they play, and listeners often comment, "I can't believe this much sound is coming from these guys!"

Performing many of the all-time greatest songs, Mr. Potato Head can deliver Sinatra with the sophistication of the jazz greats, or play The Jackson Five with the same infectious groove as Motown's Funk Brothers. When covering artists like Bruce Springsteen or The Rolling Stones, their energy has a rawness reminiscent of the punk era. During "Holiday," you may do a double take to see if Madonna just made a guest appearance! Mr. Potato Head's repertoire contains an unusually wide range of material, including many unpredictable songs that will add to the uniqueness of your occasion. From yesterday's classics to some of today's current hits, Mr. Potato Head can do it all.

This band has a long history of providing exceptional musical entertainment, in part, by having always associated itself with top-notch players. Individually and collectively, current members of Mr. Potato Head have performed, recorded or toured with some of the most renowned musical artists in the world. That list would include a 12 year stint with James Brown; performances with Michael Jackson, Dave Matthews Band, Lenny Kravitz, Earl Slick; tours with Judie Tzuke, David Ball, C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band; and more than a year with Ben Folds. Mr. Potato Head horn players have performed countless concerts with The Four Tops, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Tony Bennett and Kenny Chesney. Mr. Potato Head alumni have gone on to become integral members of the recording/touring acts: Sting, Gavin DeGraw, Regina Spektor, Avril Lavigne, Jack Ingram, Little Big Town and more. In 1993, three original members of Mr. Potato Head were signed to Sony/Columbia as the band, "Dag," who recorded two critically acclaimed albums for Columbia Records and spent several years touring the US, Europe and Japan. Influenced by so many unique experiences, Mr. Potato Head's brand of entertainment is anything but typical. So, for the most memorable night of your life, book Mr. Potato Head today!!!

Chris and I wanted to send a quick note to say thanks. Sorry we didn't have the chance to meet last Saturday...I'm sure you saw everyone was pretty busy on the dance floor! A week later and we are still receiving compliments on how great of a band we had at our wedding and how much everyone enjoyed dancing the whole night! Chris and I really couldn't agree more! Thanks for being so awesome and making such an impact on our big day.

Alison D.

Thanks for jamming Saturday night guys!  I hope you had as much fun as we did!  Seriously, we couldn't have had a better time than the party you all put on for us! Such a great group to work with and INCREDIBLY TALENTED musicians to boot!  We are so grateful for you all keeping us dancing all night long.  Thank you again for making our reception so memorable!

Emily & Michael

I wanted to thank you guys for Saturday. It was the best day I ever lived and was unforgettable. "The best wedding band I've ever seen" has been a common text I have received. Thanks for all you did in preparation and for making it so amazing. I will be thankful for that the rest of my life.

I cant wait for the next party with you guys.

Chris M.

Thank you SOOOOOO much!!! Seriously people haven't stopped talking about how awesome y'all are!! You made our wedding!! :-)

Bride and Groom

Mr. Potato Head was absolutely INCREDIBLE at our wedding!!  The band was exactly what we were looking for and they went above and beyond at our reception.  Since you only get one shot at your wedding, we were nervous about picking the right band.  We wanted an upbeat, fun, energetic band that could play fun hits, along with motown, classic rock, etc., and they nailed every single song in a seamless playlist that got better with each new tune.

Our guests were so impressed by their versatility and lively execution. One man in his early 60s had, and I quote, "the best night of his life" and chose to stand the entire dinner while air-drumming along to every song!  Standing alone.  Air drumming.  While his wife ate alone. J  ** The one thing that stands out the most about our wedding, is that every single guest continues to rave about the band: Mr. Potato Head **

Overall, Mr. Potato Head had the most amazing energy and musical talents that had our guests dancing the entire night.  We give them an A+++ rating and could not have been happier with the outcome.  The band was terrific from start to finish – with my friends declaring "we need this band for our wedding!!"  Our wedding would not have been nearly as fun, full of energy and loving memories without Mr. Potato Head's musical talents, so thank you MPH!!

Kim & JJ

Mr. Potato Head was everything we could have hoped for in our wedding band. They were easy to work with, both before and on the wedding day. I had wonderful phone conversations with Doug in the weeks leading up to the wedding to discuss our vision for the music and the day - he was so open to hearing my thoughts and also adding relevant, great suggestions. On the day of the wedding, I could really tell that the band had taken my vision into consideration, the music was exactly what we had wanted (a mix between oldies/beach music and more contemporary songs)! The guests were packed on the dance floor until the night was over and were even asking for band encores - we owe it all to Mr. Potato head, they were awesome! We have had so many people since the wedding telling us that it was the best wedding band they had ever seen and even people asking if the band might travel to the Midwest to play at their weddings. I cannot say enough great things about this band, they made the day so special (and easy) for us!

Katie M.

The band was absolutely amazing. They played a great variety of music with unbelievable skill and expertise. They had the crowd going from start to finish and everyone commented on how much fun they were. They also were very professional and excellent to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone and would use them again in a second. Thanks again for following up and for all your services.

Cynthia R.

Mary and I had an incredible time jamming to your music.  You guys were so spot on that multiple people told me they thought a jukebox was playing during the cocktail hour.  From a music lover who wanted something different than a Motown funk band, you delivered.  Your variety and your musical ability is awesome.  We really appreciated that you took the time to understand our musical taste and that you crafted your set list to fit it.  Thanks for making it such a special event.  5 stars and we’d give you a glowing recommendation to anyone considering booking you.

John F.

The people at The John Marshall Hotel said this was the wildest wedding they'd ever seen! The band was fantastic and I'd totally recommend them!  It turned out fabulous - a "10" all the way around.  They played The Allman Brothers for the Father/Daughter dance like we requested and nailed it. They were gracious to let a good friend of the family sit in on singing lead on a song. Just great.  If you ever need a reference for Mr. Potato Head or EastCoast Entertainment, please let me know.

David M.

We had Mr. Potato Head perform at our June wedding in Charlotte. I cannot stress enough how AMAZING they were. It was 95 degrees out, and they still had the entire wedding out on the dance floor for 2 hours. They only took one break for dinner, and didn't complain about the heat once. I had several people tell us how awesome they were and ask how to contact them for their own weddings/events.

Becky P.

Father of the Bride

I don't see how we could have made a better choice for a wedding band than Mr. Potato Head.  From the music you played during the dinner (people were coming up to me to tell me how awesome you were- the musicianship in the band is unparalleled ) to the nonstop dance party that ensued later, you guys had it all covered.  I can't tell you how many people have called, emailed, or texted me about how they just couldn't leave the dance floor. From Steely Dan to the Talking Heads, to Old Crow Medicine Show - you guys just nailed every song, no matter what the genre. Having my daughter, the bride, join you for a few songs made the night even more special. My only disappointment was that there were so many other songs on your playlist that I wanted to hear you do!  I guess I'll just have to find another excuse to get you up here again.

Mike S.

Mother of the Bride

Absolutely the best any of us have ever heard!

We loved them!!

Dottie H.

They were AWESOME!! Everyone has been asking who they were. They exceeded our expectations! They were extremely laid back, very easy to work with and super friendly. Thanks for all of your help with this!

Sully D.

Both Mr Potato Head and Amati were phenomenal. And Mr Potato Head was even cool with letting my band play a few songs on their equipment which was really cool of them. It was an amazing evening. Thanks a ton for your help, Rick.
David B.

A++ Performance!

I am picky when it comes to music. I grew up in a musical family and music has always been a foundation in my life. That translates into: For our wedding day, I needed an incredible band that played the spectrum of genres (and played them well) and kept the energy high so people remained on the dance floor. I couldn't have asked for a better band than Mr. Potato Head!! They played such a broad spectrum of songs that all generations were on the floor dancing - From classical jazz to beach music to Motown and Funk to 80s alternative to Americana to modern (among others not mentioned). It's clear that MPH has played together for years. Their synchronicity with each other and their ability to work the crowd and keep the energy high made our wedding reception perfect - it was as good and better than what I had imagined for our wedding day. They are classy, willing to work closely with you to understand your musical tastes, and they are definitely not cheesy (as some bands can be). At the risk of sounding like a cheesy infomercial, if you are looking for the perfect band for your event, you will love MPH and so will your guests. The bride gets complimented on all sorts of things on her wedding day, but the most compliments I recieved were for picking such an amazing band. It's all about the music!

Hey Doug,

Leslie and I wanted to offer our sincere appreciation for making our wedding reception a major success.

It is difficult to keep the energy level up with a small crowd, like ours, but you guys managed it expertly. Everyone loved it!

We will recommend you guys to any of our friends or family who get married in or around Savannah.

Gary and Leslie M.

Probably one of the best party bands I have ever heard.

Thanks for turning me on to them. They really made the evening a blast.

Mr. Potato Head performed at my daughter Carrie’s wedding this past Sunday. There were Perfect!!!

MOORE weddings are always filled with special requests and surprises. Doug and the band gave us everything we needed and more. From learning several special songs he may or may not ever use again to performing the coolest hippest dinner set I have ever witnessed to closing the night with a non-stop 2 hour dance set, these guys couldn’t have been better.

My daughter and her fiancé are on a plane to Australia and New Zealand for a 2 week honeymoon. She called me last night to thank me for getting her this band.  Her friends can’t stop talking about how incredible they were. Thanks to the band for helping make this a truly Unforgettable Experience.

Lee Moore

We had the best time at our wedding and Mr. Potato Head was a large part of that.  They were great!  Many guests commented that the band was the best that they had heard at a wedding.  Their set list rocked and everyone danced the whole night.  My father mentioned part way through the reception that we weren't just at a great wedding, but we were at a great party!   It was awesome.  Thanks again Stacy and Mr. Potato Head band.

Kevin D.

I echo Michael's sentiments :) I have to be honest and say I had measured expectations for how this part of the evening would go, but Mr. Potato Head completely blew me away! I was just so happy to see every guest, from my seven year old cousins to my 89 year old grandparents having fun on the dance floor. I kept trying to walk away to chat with guests but a favorite song from the playlist would begin and I would just turn around and keep dancing.

Thanks again for everything, Stacy! I know you were such a great resource to Michael and my parents.

Oh man, Stacy - we absolutely loved the band! They exceeded my every expectation for how great a wedding band can be. The dance floor was packed the entire night! And Doug executed the timeline to perfection - didn't miss a beat. (It wasn't the easiest of timelines to work with either.)

Please pass along our thanks to the band - they helped to make our special night perfect.

Doug - You guys were AWESOME and really helped make our day perfect. I got a lot of compliments about you all. I loved how you all would start playing the next song while you were finishing up the first song...built up a lot of anticipation. Both you and your guitarist had some sick solos too! Anyways, thanks again for everything! Will definitely pass your name along to any of my friends looking for bands!

Lauren H.

My wife and I hired Mr Potato Head for our wedding in Washington DC. Doug was very helpful, communicative and responsive during the planning phase, and the band sounded amazing during the event. Guests are still raving about the music at the reception!  The sound quality was excellent in a very large hall, and the set lists kept the dance floor filled. I would highly recommend Mr Potato Head for any wedding or other event.

Adam T.

When my now hubby and I were looking at bands to perform at our wedding, we knew what we wanted but weren't finding it. Then, we clicked on Mr. Potato Head. Aside from the amazing fact that Danny Ray - the man who introduced James Brown for 40 years is on their promo video (my hubby and I are HUGE fans) - they are such a tight band with an amazingly diverse and interesting song list. From the dinner hour to the first dances (they learned and played our Elvis song beautifully!), to the garter and bouquet toss and to the over 2 hours of continuous jamming, they had our guests on the dance floor all night! In fact, when they ended, one of our guests threw down his tie and demanded an encore! I've never seen that happen at any party much less a wedding. Doug was incredibly easy to work with and so patient - he took the time to discuss with me all the necessary details and gave great ideas and feedback. And, the night of the wedding, the entire band was kind, considerate, on time, and completely groovy! I would book this band again in a heartbeat and would recommend them to anyone. It's always been said to me that you remember the food and music at weddings - and I can tell you that it rings true, especially when it comes to Mr. Potato Head. Thank you guys!!!! You ROCK!
Blair K.

Natasha, thank you for your email! I actually wrote a review of Mr. Potato Head on their site on ECE but haven't looked back to see if it was posted so I'm copying JR and Doug on this email. And, am so glad you reached out so I can email you all!

The band SURPASSED our expectations! Truly, from start to finish - Doug and I having our initial conversations about the music selections and flow of the evening - to the night of the wedding - it was absolutely perfect! They were a joy to work with, kept the party going with one friend taking off his tie and demanding an encore when they finished! (he was loving them!), and fulfilled all our wishes, including learning our first dance selection.

You and JR were also a joy to work with! From the very beginning you were patient with me while I made decisions on who to choose and you were always upfront advice-wise and helpful til the end. I sincerely appreciate your help and follow-up.

I will and already have recommended ECE and Mr. Potato Head and will continue to do so. I bet they will get some follow up requests as our wedding guests loved them too.

Thank you all, and I have 2 wishes - that I could have that party every weekend AND a current reason to work with you again! But I know who to call should I need music help in the future. :)

Doug: Thank you for a fantastic event Friday night!!! I cannot tell you how many compliments we have received about you all. Madhatter's Ball

Rick- thank you so much for recommending Mr. Potato head band for the Madhatters Ball. They were the perfect band for the night! Doug and the guys could not have been nicer or easier to work with. They were a huge hit with the members and everyone danced all night. I really appreciate your patience with me this year, it paid off!!

Emily J.

Mr. Potato Head was AWESOME at our wedding. We really couldn't have asked for more. We got a ton of compliments on the music and the flow of the event was great.

We will be recommending them to our friends and wouldn't be surprised if some of our single friends ask for them when they eventually get married.

Thanks again for everything!

Michael G.

Thanks so much for helping us book them. They were unbelievable and we had the best time. The band was easy to work with and they were one of the best if not the best wedding band I've ever seen. Thank you again and we look forward to catching up next weekend at Thomas' wedding. Please relay to Mr. Potato Head that we really had a great time.

All the best,

Matt F.

We searched through hundreds of bands to find Mr. Potato Head. I contacted every booking agent on the east coast that serviced Charlottesville. There were few bands if any that had close to their amazing singing voices and musicianship but none that came close to matching their versatility and song list (which is amazingly solid) covering the classics (like you have to for a wedding) but having plenty of out of the ordinary songs that allowed them to personalize the evening to our tastes.

On the actual night we were all blown away. They really know how to work a crowd, and the dance floor was packed the entire night. Just as an example our photographer was suppose to leave at 9 but stuck around for 2 more hours, just to listen to them play. When their last set finished and I took the mic to say goodnight, our guests would have none of it, they wanted more Mr. Potato Head and despite the fact that they had a 3hr drive ahead of them they played a three song encore. It was amazing.

Also they nailed our wedding song (and learned another song for the mother-son dance at no charge). I could go on, but who wants to read a long review, you can't go wrong with these guys!

Trevor T.

Mother of the Bride

Many thanks for the phenomenal job that you did performing at our daughter's wedding. You were professional and talented. Kaley and Jeff's desire was to have a band that could keep people dancing and enjoying the reception. That was definitely accomplished! Everyone danced and love it! You were also gracious to allow Jeff to "show off" a little, which really help personalize the evening.

Many thanks!

High School Event

We had an awesome time - I wish I had $100 for each time someone has dropped by my office to tell me what a great time they had at the Gala and how much they enjoyed having Mr. Potato Head.

You guys were, I dare say, the best wedding band of all time! While your promotional video doesn't nearly do you the justice that you deserve, we could tell upon first viewing that Mr. Potato Head would offer the kind of musical variety we were looking for. So many people have remarked that they couldn't remember the last wedding they attended in which everybody seemed to be having such a good time. From Al Green to Neil Diamond, from reggae to funk, we felt like the evening's entertainment had been tailor-fit to our particular musical tastes, and for that we?ll be forever appreciative. Though our praise may appear a bit over-the-top, the choice of a band for our wedding was one of the only decisions left completely up to us. And since we both love music and enjoy getting out on the dance floor, we knew that a very special band was not only necessary, but essential. Not only did Mr. Potato Head perform to our expectations, you exceeded them about ten minutes into the evening. So thank you so much, not only for being such an incredible group of performers, but for being such a genuinely nice, inviting, and accommodating group of people.

I just wanted to say what a great time I, and everyone else, had Saturday night! We have been doing that event for years now and I swear it has never been that much fun and I think that was all due to you guys! It had a whole new energy and that is just awesome... y'all just make people happy and that is very cool!

Mr. Potato Head were absolutely amazing!!!!! We got so many compliments on them and they were just perfect! So easy to work with and everyone had a great time! My only issue was I got stuck doing "wedding" stuff and all I wanted to do was jam out to the band. I honestly went to their website to see if they did any shows, b/c I would definitely go check them out.

They were just perfect and really made our day special. Thank you so much for helping us find the perfect band!

I do not know if praise can do justice. The Mr. Potato Head was perfect! Everything we hoped for and more. Every song was played with excellence, including the requested songs for the first dance, father/daughter dance and mother/son dance and fun aspects, such as, the tossing of the bouquet and garter toss. You gave us a tremendous recommendation and I thank you very much for your help. I believe Bethany has the groups email address so we will send our regards to them, but next time you are in contact please send my Many Thanks! East Coast Entertainment and Mr. Potato Head will be at the top of our recommendation list, as well as, any future events we may have.

Thank you,

Robert M.

Mr. Potato Head were AMAZING! Everyone had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed them! Thank you so much for lining them up for our event. We have heard excellent things about them and they definitely helped make that adult social a success!

Thank you again and I will definitely contact you when our next big event comes up! Have a great day and talk to you soon.

Mother of the Bride

I cannot begin to tell you how awesome Mr. Potato Head was!! We had compliments from the guests all night. To give you an example, the band played music during dinner and we had someone say they thought we were playing music over speakers. He could not believe it was a live band. My daughter and her fiance requested a new song for the first dance, "Swept Away" by the Avett Brothers. The bride and groom thought they sang it better than the original artists. They kept the crowd going all night. Everyone wanted to know where we found them! I said you of course. Thank you so much for suggesting Mr. Potato Head. Unbelievable group of artists!!! Truly talented musicians. Thanks

The band was great. lots of people said how much they liked them....and one of the best wedding bands they have seen. Working with them was great. Good attitudes are really helpful.

Wow! Talk about a great night! Mr. Potato Head really made our event outstanding.  In fact guests are still talking about what a fun night it was.

Not only are the musicians outstanding, the song repertoire is excellent. They can play many songs that other bands do not even dare to cover! The band knows how to get the crowd up and dancing and I think all 150 people in attendance at the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Presidents' Dinner was on their feet having a blast. There were so many people dancing the staff had to move the tables back to make more room on the dance floor!

Mr. Potato Head made the evening and I would give them my highest recommendation. You simply can't get a better band!
