In an industry where the average life of a band is about five years, Liquid Pleasure has set a new standard. As they enter their 29th year, they have firmly established themselves as the South's premiere show and dance band! Three out of the six present musicians who make up Liquid Pleasure are original members and grew up together in the shadow of the campus of UNC Chapel Hill. This type of longevity and consistency combined with exceptional talent, sets Liquid Pleasure apart from the rest. They perform all across the USA from San Francisco to Vegas and New York plus everywhere in between. Over the years, the band has appeared with such notable artists as Paula Abdul, The Temptations, Whitney Houston, The Four Tops, Stacy LL Cool J, Aretha Franklin and Jeffery Osborne.
Whatever the occasion, Liquid Pleasure will treat you to an evening of pure fun and enjoyment!
Liquid Pleasure is:
Kenny Mann - Leader, manager, comedian, wise-cracker. He also finds time to play keyboards and all the horn parts. A founding member of the group, he is the creative force around which the band flows.
Melvin Farrington - Bass guitar; Melvin is an original member and is the man behind the thumping groove in the band's sound.
Leonard Hackney - Lead guitar; Leonard's good natured humor and smooth licks are a driving force behind the band's sound and show. He is also an original member.
Archie Logan- Drums; The "new kid on the block". Archie, a native of New Haven CT, has been with the band for two years a lays down a smoking groove.
Anthony Springs- Lead vocals; Anthony has been with the band for over twenty years and brings a powerful vocal style along with acrobatic dance moves to the stage.
Charles White- Lead Vocals; Charles has been delivering a smooth and soulful vocal style and hot dance moves for over 11 years.
Liquid Pleasure was awesome! They were fantastic to work with, so agreeable and accommodating. This is the first Cotillion any of us remember the Cloister having to blink the lights to get people to leave! Usually, the bands we book are gone at least 30 minutes before the end of the contracted playing time. The dance floor was still packed at 11 pm. People were begging Kenny to stay! Because everyone was having so much fun with Kenny and the band, everyone stayed and visited while the band packed up. I was at a Cotillion meeting last night, and the ladies were still talking about Liquid Pleasure and quoting various members of the band! I think Elizabeth sold some rooms for New Years Eve!
St. Simons Cotillion would recommend Liquid Pleasure to everyone! All age groups were engaged and enjoyed the evening thanks to Liquid Pleasure!
On a personal note, I appreciate them sending me out on such a positive note! This was my final event as chairperson of Cotillion. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me and for Cotillion.

Hi Graham - Liquid Pleasure once again put on a great performance and lived up to the crowd's, and our, expectations!! It was great that all the young guests knew and loved the band from all their years in college and that was one more thing that built enthusiasm for the weekend ahead of time ... a treat for them to look forward to! It was a great night and the floor was packed and rockin right through the last song! And please thank them again for learning "Warm Love" and "You are the Sunshine of my Life" for the first dance and the father/daughter dance. We think they were the perfect choices!!
Hope to see LP in Lexington at the end of October at W&L Parent's Weekend ... they have become a tradition at the Phi Delt house! - All the best,
Peggy A. (Wedding)

Dear Graham - On June 18, 2011, I attended my 25th reunion at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Approximately 400 members of the Dartmouth Class of 1986 attended the reunion (40% of the entire graduating class!) and more than 900 people in total attended, including spouses and children.
Little did we know how lucky we were that the organizers of the weekend had booked Liquid Pleasure as the band for Saturday night.
I had never heard of Liquid Pleasure prior to Saturday night, but now that I've heard them (and danced my tail off to them!), I can tell you that I highly recommend them for any occasion, particularly an occasion where the guests like to get out of their seats and really participate in the dancing. The music that they played was extremely appropriate for the crowd, many of whom hadn't seen each other in 25 years and were looking forward to dancing as they had danced a quarter of a century prior on frat row at Dartmouth. As the band will tell you if you asked them, we looked pretty darn good for a bunch of 47 and 48 year olds (especially the women are very well preserved!!!).
Many things impressed me about Liquid Pleasure. First, they were appropriately dressed in white sequined outfits with a nice green stripe (Dartmouth's school colors are green and white!). They had obviously put some thought into their outfits and that was very much appreciated. (Harvard crimson, Yale blue, or Brown would not have been a good color choice if you know what I mean!). Second, they were playing exactly the right kind of music for the people they were playing for -- they understood the audience and they played the music which that audience enjoyed hearing and dancing to. Third, they made everyone feel at home so that people could dance with their children too (most of those children had to be hauled onto the dance floor because they had never seen their parents behaving so strangely!). Fourth, they played for three hours straight (literally) without taking even a five minute break. Given the intensity of their playing, this was truly amazing. When I looked at my watch, saw that it was 12:45 a.m. and realized that they hadn't taken a break since 9:45 p.m., I was simply blown away. And fifth, they played an encore song after we begged them to, even though they had every right to pull the plug and say that enough was enough already!
I highly recommend Liquid Pleasure. They delivered an evening of sheer joy which I will remember for the rest of my life. - Best regards,
Harry C. (Dartmouth Reunion)

I would like to second my daughter's remarks regarding Liquid Pleasure's performance this weekend. They were truly amazing...the best ever!!!!! Not only are their music and performing terrific, but they are so very interactive and engaging with the guests, young and old, that the experience becomes much more personal and festive. The play list appealed to all ages and even had the adult "cripples" with bad hips and knees out on the dance floor enjoying themselves and feeling young again! They relived a bit of their youth with Motown, Michael Jackson and other artists! Needless to say, the younger guests (and bride and groom) never wanted them to stop playing. I had the opportunity to talk a bit with Kenny, who is a great guy and real professional. Please give him and the entire band our regards and sincere thank you for an extra-special event!

The party was incredible and Liquid Pleasure kept everyone on the dance floor. They are an amazing band. Kenny was spectacular to work with as well. We'll definitely book them again!

Yes - they were absolutely perfect!! Extremely easy to work with and especially sweet to the eight girls honored at the event. All of the girls/parents were thrilled and "word on the street" is that our party was the best of the season!!!

Chris,
Hi! Everything was great as always! I will send the pictures as soon as we get them. Please thank the band members for a great job. Our guests rave about them every year like it's the first time we've ever had them. I think it's about the 5th year in a row now.
Thanks again for everything!

Ted,
We have a long history with Kenny Mann and Liquid Pleasure that goes back 25 years. As this this was my last prom due to retirement, Kenny arranged as a surprise for me instead of a 9 piece band a 12 piece band and 3 vocalists; it was an evening I will never forget. Kenny is the "Man" that's for sure and to book Liquid Pleasure is to be certain your guests will have a fabulous time. This band is timeless and suits all ages. In my case our prom is for juniors and seniors, and the juniors were leaving prom that evening asking me to try and get Liquid Pleasure for next year. Just to show you how popular they are with our kids the seniors have been fortunate to have had Liquid Pleasure both years. The students not only like the music; they find the band members crowd friendly and engaging unlike other bands I have dealt with over the years, and they genuinely like young people. The prom wasn't over until midnight and Kenny kept them all dancing until then. Liquid Pleasure is also a "little bit of heaven."
Thanks,
