The Early Ray Band has been together since 2010 and has performed numerous events for EastCoast Entertainment. From supporting national acts such as Pat Green and Dierks Bentley to headlining their own events they always bring the party, and each member has their own unique history and varied experiences that make up the secret ingredients.
Rayen Belchere, a/k/a Early Ray, leads the band with more than 15 years in the music business, and he owns the crowd right away. Rayen has a gift for mesmerizing the audience. He's like a lion tamer but with a guitar and mic instead of a whip and chair. From Rock Hill, South Carolina, Rayen credits his vast experience on the world stage with many top rock and country artists for his Pied Piper like abilities. Rayen performs lead vocals and acoustic guitar and is responsible for the band's original music.
Joanna Perry is the band's fiddler, and she also has a nickname. "Jocephus", as she is more affectionately known, grew up in western New York near Buffalo and was classically trained in the Suzuki method starting at the age of 5. In her teens she started touring NY state with a bluegrass band where she found her true calling. Joanna's green violins are her trademarks on stage, and the crowds never cease to be amazed. Joanna performs backing vocals, and violin/fiddle.
Looking for a band with an upright bass? Stop. Kerry Brooks is here. Kerry and Rayen have been playing together for the better part of 10 years, and their chemistry on stage has been mixed just right to provide an alluring elixir perfect for washing down a good time. Kerry mixes his classical, jazz and country roots into a smooth bass line that's almost more steady-moving-freight-train than music. Except, of course, when he is tossed a solo at which point the funk is liable to spill all over the place. Kerry performs backing vocals, upright and electric bass, mandolin and lap steel.
On drums, Double G. Gary Greene provides comic relief, human beat box, lead vocals on show tunes and an unmistakable rhythm. You may recognize Gary from playing with Hootie and the Blowfish, Craven Melon or Big Head Todd as he has been on the big stage for 22 years performing with the best of the best. Gary performs backing vocals, percussion and drums.
Chad Barger is on the keys, and like Gary has been performing and touring for quite awhile. Also a member of Craven Melon and other popular bands, Chad can tickle the ivories, get soulful on the organ or just mash it all up into a barrage of honky tonk good times. Chad performs backing vocals, piano, organ and even the tambourine.
Occasionally, by either request or as a surprise, Early Ray will have a guest on stage to feature a specific instrument or just change the game a little. The two most popular guests are Ziad Rabie and Jeff Jones. Present on many of their larger shows for EastCoast, Ziad steals the show with his saxophone while Jeff stops you in your tracks with his amazing lead guitar licks. Both musicians have been featured on Early Rays albums along with a slew of other top performing acts.
Early Ray is available for private parties, receptions and corporate events. The typical line-up is their core 5 piece, but you can order up whichever you like. If you are looking for a light snack, you may just want a spicy chicken biscuit featuring Rayen solo on acoustic guitar, or a wing and thigh that includes Joanna or Kerry. The larger appetite can accommodate the 4pc meal rounded out with Double G drumsticks, and if you are starved for a good time party, check out the 5pc combo that includes thirst quenching keys from Chad. Finally the chicken bucket will feed any size family when you add sides Ziad and/or Jeff to the mix.
Contact EastCoast Entertainment for your booking needs, and they will put you in touch with the band's manager, Troy Perry for all the other details. Early Ray can also provide professional PA for up to 1k people, so be sure to include your amplification needs in your q&a with an EastCoast representative.
