You guys were outstanding Saturday night. From the very start people were asking me "What band is this and where did you find them?" (the credit for that goes to Sarah). Then once Sarah did her dances with Matt and me, and folks were able to take to the dance floor, the comments and questions even increased. I recall toward the end one guy in his 30s grabbed me and said, "I've been to probably a hundred weddings and without a doubt this is the best band at any of them -- it's not even close."
A big indicator is how many people were still there (and dancing) at the very end. Another indicator is this: after everyone had left, Laura and I went out to my car and it was full of gifts. We were really tired but didn't feel comfortable leaving all of those gifts in the car overnight so we went to Sarah's apartment and unloaded the car. We finally got back to the Hyatt around 1:00 and as we got to the lobby the bar was packed, and we saw it was mostly folks from the reception. Our son Daniel told us later that people didn't want the evening to end and basically over-ran the bar which required the hotel to go find extra bartenders to handle everything. Daniel said there were still around 100 people there at 1:45 when the hotel closed it down for the night. I can assure you that the people didn't head to that bar because the supply of beverages was limited at the reception. It was because they were all still so pumped from the reception and you guys were a key component of that. The way your band interacted with the crowd was great and it made the evening so much fun for everyone.
We also appreciate how you stayed a little longer than normal and took care of all of the special requests, including playing "Mrs. Robinson" for the finale. We will definitely spread the word as we see opportunities to do that, both in Charlotte and elsewhere. In fact, one of my Raleigh partners asked me today for some links to your info (he is Jewish and his daughter turns 13 next summer). I realize that assuming the price is the same, your favorite venues would be in Atlanta but the Carolinas are probably your second choice because of proximity and the prospects of having audiences like we had Saturday night who really appreciate what you do. I will be glad to serve as a reference for you so if someone asks for one, feel free to have them call me (at work is fine). I will tell my assistant to be on the lookout for people periodically calling about the Atlanta Showstoppers.
Please tell the rest of the Showstoppers how much everyone loved the evening and thank them for us. Take care, Larry S. (July 28th, 2012) Father of the Bride
Your band was fabulous. Rave reviews from all and entertaining to the max. Could not have asked for a more impressive performance. Extremely difficult to hold the crowd for as long as we asked the Showstoppers to do but you were successful and I and the sugar bowl committee thank you. You made the evening a complete success.
John. L. (December 31st, 2012) Sugar Bowl Committee Gala
We hope that you all are doing well and having a great summer! We can't express how wonderful it was to have you play at our wedding. The Atlanta Showstoppers are amazing and we keep hearing this from all of our guests!!! You guys made the night so special. No one could stay off of their feet, song after song. Thank you guys so much for making our wedding celebration fantastic.
We were wondering if you had a set list from our wedding night?? It would be so fun to have all of the songs to listen to down the road!!
Thank you again!! Holly and Gerry S. Philadelphia (June 30th, 2012)
We just returned from a wonderful 10 days in the Greek islands, but I have to admit that it's hard to beat the setting of our wedding night at Ocean Forest! You all were absolutely fabulous and I have heard nothing but rave reviews from the people who were there, so thanks for everything. It's hard to leave the dance floor with such great music and energy!
We definitely look forward to seeing you guys perform again in the future!
Sarah W. (September 22nd, 2012) Bride, Ocean Forest Club in Sea Island
Glenn - We had a ball at the wedding. I want you and the entire band to know that every phone call, email and one-on-one conversation includes comments on how great the band was! Once the Father Daughter dance concluded the dance floor was full for the entire night. I loved the fact that we had all ages dancing from 85 year olds to the very young. It was truly a magical evening. THANKS,
Kay Hagan United States Senator Mother of the Bride
Dear Glenn - Marianne and I are forever grateful to you and each one of your band members for the superb performance you gave Saturday evening for Ashley and Jason and the wedding guests in Charlotte. It is difficult to know where to begin with the praise. We received countless compliments from those in attendance on the music, your band's energy and its stage presence and the fun and joyfulness The Atlanta Showstoppers created. For me the beginning was the fantastic job everyone did with my request for Power of Love / Love Power by Luther Vandross, a beautiful song which has much meaning and history for me and my daughter. You replicated a complex arrangement to a T and you did this in short order. From the rhythm (awesome) and the vocals (awesome), to the phrasing, to the keyboard work and then the beautiful gospel background, you did us proud. I thank you! The Showstoppers energy and endurance was unbelievable. You had everyone dancing and enjoying from minute one for three straight hours. Hearing about it is one thing, seeing it is another, and being a part of it, still another. You put us on higher ground. Further proof is this - the staff at the venue dropped their work, came out from closed doors, wanting to hear you, saying "this is the best band ever at this club."Your band members were courteous and professional - very impressive. You had young and old participating in the fun, and yet you kept a pretty raucous crowd under control - that too was impressive.
Thank you also for performing Ashley and Jason's requests. There were many young talented persons in attendance as part of the crowd, and no doubt, they will remember the Atlanta Showstoppers for many years to come. You will see them again, as you will Marianne and myself. It was a night to remember and we thank you all.
Sincerely,
Brent T. (June 23rd, 2012) Father of the Bride Charlotte
Steve, I would say, without a doubt, they are the finest dance party band I have ever heard. We had so much fun and they were extremely professional. The choice of their songs and the quality of the musicians made the evening for us and all the guests. Our only regret is that they didn’t play to the wee hours of the morning. But I’m not sure we could have made it. Thanks again for handling this contract for us.
Jimmy H. Father of the Bride Charleston Wedding 7/21/12
Simply put, you guys exceeded all expectations. Ashley and I couldn't have had a more professional, talented, crisp and energetic band than you guys. Every. Single. Person. I spoke with during and after the event raved about you. Even my more musically snobbish friends could not believe how amazing you guys were. Thanks so much for providing the energy and excitement we needed to make the night truly amazing. Additionally, our friends pleaded for an encore and you guys delivered. And, in attending many weddings recently, I can honestly say I have never seen a wedding band encore. That shows you how much fun we were having!
I also received a pretty detailed email from one of my groomsmen that does a much better job that I in expressing our overall impression, therefore I'll pass that along as well.
Thanks again and hopefully we'll get to see you again sometime soon!
Jason M. (June 23rd, 2012) Groom Charlotte, Quail Hollow Club
Hello Glenn. Thank you so much for your message! You all helped to make our day absolutely SPECTACULAR!!! We are still hearing quite the buzz about you all from our guests! Look forward to an opportunity to see another performance in the future:)
Thank you so very very much Atlanta Showstoppers for the most wonderful night on Lookout Mountain!!!!! Ya'll are amazing and such a joy! Ya'll made the party rocking' and Jimmy and I and all of our guests will never forget this fun and absolutely perfect night!!!!!
Catherine J. (June 9, 2012) Bride, Lookout Mountain, TN
I truly believe that I just heard the perfect corporate band. I rarely want to stay to the end of a dinner event because I am usually the first person in the ballroom that day. I have to admit I tried to leave but I kept getting pulled back in. Just like the guests that never left the dance floor.
By far, the best wedding band I have ever heard! Had such a fantastic time at Jimmy and Catherine's wedding last night!! You guys not only had me and my sisters dancing all night, but both of my parents (who usually just wait for the slow songs at weddings) and my grandmother! Fantastic performers, wonderful show! I felt like I was at a concert! I recommend highly for any event!!! Thank you for making last night so much fun!!
You are the talk of Raleigh today! I'll post on your blog! I only wish we had allowed more time for your performance due to slow food service, etc. Couldn't have had a better band! thanks to all of you!
Hey Terry - Oh my gosh---they were awesome!!!! They were a 12 out of a 10!!! Words can't describe how tremendous the band was---Atlanta Showstoppers made the reception the best party ever!!! Not only were Jaimie and Andrew totally impressed I have had more emails, texts, and phone calls from everyone about how amazing the band was. When they opened up with Earth, Wind and Fire one of the guys at the reception hadn't seen them yet he only heard them from another room and told everyone around him "Only Milton and Cara would get Earth, Wind, and Fire for the reception!" he came into the area where they were and never left the dance floor----the thing is he NEVER dances! Andrew told me yesterday even my dad danced and he doesn't dance either. Fun, fun, fun!!!
When we get the video and pictures we will send you some of the band. If you ever need references please feel free to have them contact us---once they speak with us they will be sold! We wish you and all the band members of Atlanta Showstoppers the very best!
Glenn - Emily and Eric are in St. Lucia with no internet service, but I know for a fact they join Jim and me in saying what an absolutely dynamite job you and your band did at the reception! Everywhere I have gone in Raleigh this week, I have been stopped to hear from guests about the fabulous time they had and about the wonderful wonderful wonderful band! You all were fantastic and made the reception fun for all our family and guests! We simply cannot thank you enough. You all are THE BEST!!!! Thank you for everything!
Mollie D. (April 21st, 2012) Mother of the Bride (Carolina Country Club)
We enjoyed having you and your talented group at Wheeling Island. As they say "a good time was had by all". We will most certainly keep in you mind not just for NYE 2012 but also for additional upcoming special events.
Larry - Atlanta Showstoppers played for us for the third time in the last 5 months. I can honestly say that I think this is the nicest and most talented band I have used. They had the dance floor full the entire night from the first dance to the last. The crowd was begging for more! They are brilliant with their playlist, they are timely, they are nice, and they do everything and more that I ask of them. At one point during the band's break, Glenn Carvin helped me hand out blankets to guests that were cold! Who does this? Well the Atlanta Showstoppers do it all! The Hagans and every guest will testify to the amazing energy and fun they created. I will always lead with Atlanta Showstoppers when I propose a band for any function - they go above and beyond. Do you know that Glenn contacts my clients when they sign the contract to thank them? Do you know that he actually looks at timelines and suggests things that will go better for the event even if it means they miss a break or play a little longer? This band is first rate! I love them!

In just over 3 years, The Showstoppers have quickly become one of the premiere special event bands in the USA. High energy performances, 3 hour non-stop shows, incredible talent and class are just a few of the reasons The Showstoppers have become one of the most sought after for destination weddings, major corporate events and social galas around the globe.
THE SHOWSTOPPER DIFFERENCE
WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET: The best vocal frontline of any band anywhere period. Super tight rhythm section. No upcharge for the power packed horn section - they are part of the band and ALWAYS included.
3 HOUR NON-STOP SHOW:
Nothing kills the momentum of a party more than when a band takes a break. We've all seen it. The Showstoppers will perform a 3 HOUR NON-STOP SHOW or customize a 4 hour show where the only break is early and brief - so that once the party set begins - it's non-stop from then on. Need something other than that? All you have to do is ask.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL:
We understand you expect and deserve more than just a band playing music. Bandleader Glenn Carvin - "We approach each and every performance with the single goal of not only playing great music to entertain your guests, but rather to help create magical moments that will last a lifetime." The only way to do that is with the kind of communication and attention to detail they have become known for in the marketplace. Just take a quick look at their references page.
RAVE REVIEWS: Recent credits include a performance at The Smithsonian, the wedding reception for the daughter of a United States Senator, and a recent review from the Charleston Post and Courier newspaper that opens with this quote - "Not one to normally do this sort of thing, I have to rave about the best party band I've ever heard."
Members of The Showstopper band perform all over the world with major recording artists including Aretha Franklin, Peabo Bryson, and Justin Bieber, They've also appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, and Dancing With The Stars.
