Smitty Flynn and the Rivieras are best known for their ability to perform various musical styles with authenticity and excellence: Beach Music, Fifties, Classic Rock, Motown, Soul and Disco, as well as Big Band, Jazz and Swing. Five of the six members sing creating a smooth vocal harmony that has become the bands trademark.

The band is named after the Rivieras, a popular Show and Dance Band from Charlotte that toured throughout the Southeast during the 60's. Smitty Flynn was one of the original Rivieras and re-organized this band in 1980. Since 1980, Smitty Flynn and the Rivieras have been extremely successful performing for conventions, company functions, dance clubs, country clubs, wedding receptions, fund raisers and dedutante balls. This success has earned a reputation of professionalism, dependability, attention to the details of an event and a desire to make every evening a memorable one.
