As the brainchild of trumpeter Dore DeQuattro, New York City Swing was born over 15 years ago as an 18-piece swing band. Joined by Steve Shane on drums, together they molded and diversified this dynamic horn band adding all styles of music including 50s and 60s Rock & Motown, 70s Funk & Disco, Top 40 Hits & all Ethnic styles.

After beating out the Bangles, Del Fuegos and Wynton Marsalis in 1997 and 1988 for the coveted title of College Band of the year, the wedding market was calling.

Over the last decade, New York City Swing's reputation has grown and so has our organization. With the formation of Uptown Swing, 52nd St. Swing, Big City Swing, The Dream Team and The B.O.P. Band, New York City Swing is still going and growing strong.

Whether in tuxedos or zoot suits, our superlative degree of musicianship, showmanship and versatility uniquely qualifies us to satisfy the most discriminating audiences keeping the dance floor packed all night long.
